Handmade Lampshade Course 19th November 10.30am-1.00pm

Ever wanted to make your own lampshade, but just weren't sure how or where to start? Join our resident artist Heather McFarlane of Purple Heather Upholstery on this brand new workshop and get to grips with the basics of lampshade making.

You will learn how to make a 30cm drum lampshade (either ceiling pendent or lamp base orientation – your choice). Just bring along your fabric minimum size – 140cm x 35cm.

If your fabric is patterned – e.g. a bird or animal – be sure it is no bigger than 20cm high otherwise the image will be cut off due to the height of the final lampshade. Small patterns work best on a 30cm lampshade.

Frames and tools to make your own unique lampshade are supplied, with refreshments available throughout the class.

PLEASE NOTE: Fabric choice – firm cotton / curtain fabric (not upholstery fabric) works best but if you are unsure, please contact Heather on 0777 58 48 350 (what’s app) for additional guidance.

Important Information

Stone Row Artisans is on the 1st floor of the old Laura Ashley Building in Coleraine, just above Stable Lane Boutique. Unfortunately there is no lift facility in the building.
